The night

The La Marina district and its extension on Calle de la Virgen are the centre of the LGTBI scene in Ibiza. And there is a curious reference point to start the night. It is the only monument in the world dedicated to a pirate: the statue of the Ibizan corsair Antonio Riquer. From the unique obelisk you can observe the richness and diversity of Ibiza’s port, which, every summer night, becomes a stage for the exhibition of the most daring and provocative costumes, accompanied by a multicoloured spirit of freedom.

Semi-naked bodies display their splendour and beauty, adorned with creative, trend-setting accessories such as chains, feathers, straps, masks or erotic lingerie, accompanied by very sophisticated make-up, multicoloured wigs and often platform shoes that defy the rules of balance. Uninhibited parades roam the streets with joy in a cosmopolitan atmosphere where diversity is the rule and the pride of being free souls is the attitude.

Originality is the only rule in an unconventional universe, where variety and the search for new experiences prevail. The streets of the port of Ibiza are a melting pot of life, an open door to encounters, opportunities, knowing looks and smiles. The picturesque district of La Marina has a special charm, found nowhere else in the world, which identifies the soul of Ibiza: its streets are frequented by all kinds of people of all ages, in an atmosphere of respect and tolerance that places no limits on the imagination.

Children, adults, families, couples and friends from all over the world and with the most diverse tastes and trends enjoy their holidays on the island in a setting where empathy and naturalness are the order of the day. Living and having fun seem to be the only things that matter.

The LGTBI collective finds a multicoloured atmosphere and the most varied products and services in Calle de la Virgen, which runs in parallel. From cool restaurants, to places for drinks, to the most original shops and the most subversive proposals. Calle de la Virgen is the place to look and be seen, an open door to surprises and a place that makes Ibiza the undisputed gay pride centre of the world. A legendary place that changes from year to year. Calle de la Virgen sets the trend every season and renews the white island’s leadership as an LGTBI paradise.

After the first drinks, the parties begin in Ibiza’s macro-discos: Pachá, Amnesia, Privilege, Es Paradís, Hï… Not in vain are they considered the best discos in the world and all of them offer parties with gay aesthetics and content throughout the week. They are temples of music, entertainment and glamour that defy convention and create new productions that later become symbols of the global village.
